In 2023, while visiting Ugandan Secondary Schools, I witnessed something that would change my career path forever. Teachers were spending countless hours sometimes entire weekends manually preparing report cards, calculating grades, and managing student records on paper.
I watched as dedicated educators, who should have been planning engaging lessons and supporting their students, were instead buried under mountains of paperwork. Fee collection records were scattered across multiple registers, student information was stored in filing cabinets, and generating a simple class report could take days.
That's when I knew something had to change. As a software developer with years of experience building solutions for various industries, I realized I could use my skills to solve this problem. School Pilot was born from that moment of clarity a determination to give teachers and administrators their time back so they could focus on what truly matters: educating the next generation.
The Impact So Far
What started as a solution for one school has grown into a platform serving educational institutions across Uganda. Cardinal Nsubuga Secondary School became our first partner, and their feedback helped shape School Pilot into the comprehensive system it is today.
